Extraordinary stellar explosion catches NASA's eye

A fantastic stellar explosion discovered on January 21st has become the main topic under discussion among many space administrations. The blast, named as SN 2014J, occured in the galaxy M82 and lies only about 12 million light years from Earth. This makes it the nearest optical supernova in two decades. Astronomers have planned observations with NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope, Nuclear Spectroscopic Telescope Array (NuSTAR), NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory, Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope and Swift Missions.
